Doha: Iran announced on Monday that it had shot down an advanced Israeli MQ-9 drone over Ilam Province, west of the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the province's deputy security official, Taj Al-Din Salihiyan, stated that the drone was shot down on Monday morning by Iranian air defense systems in Ain Al-Sulah area near the border city of Dehloran.
On Saturday, Iran's western air defense systems had also shot down three other advanced Israeli drones in Ilam Province.
The Israeli entity had launched a large-scale airstrike targeting military, nuclear, and civilian sites in Iran on Friday at dawn, while Tehran responded to the attack by firing waves of missile strikes. The exchange of attacks between the two sides is still ongoing.
