Iran Calls on EU, France, Britain, Germany to Act Responsibly In Negotiations

Iran: Iran on Friday called on the European Union (EU), France, Britain, and Germany to act responsibly regarding its nuclear issue and abandon the policy of threats.

According to Qatar News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated on his Twitter account, "If the European Union (EU) and the three European countries (France, Britain, and Germany, known as the E3) want to play a role in the nuclear issue, they must act responsibly and abandon the outdated policy of threats and pressure, including the threat of implementing the snapback mechanism, which lacks any moral or legal basis."

He noted that he had held a joint video conference with these parties and the bloc's foreign policy coordinator hours earlier, during which he emphasized that it was the United States that withdrew from the agreement reached after two years, coordinated by the European Union (EU), and that it had withdrawn from the negotiating table last June, choosing instead the military option.

He noted that "no new round of negotiations will be possible unless the other party is ready for a fair and balanced nuclear agreement based on mutual interests," calling for a sense of responsibility in any future negotiations with Tehran and avoiding threats.

The UN Security Council has set October 18 as the expiration date for the agreement, requiring the signatory states to take decisive steps before that date, as the snapback process will take approximately 30 days.
