Iran Tensions to Be Countered with Strong Force, Trump Declares

Washington: US President Donald Trump stated that the United States would respond with overwhelming and unprecedented force if Iran continued escalating tensions in the region. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office today in remarks carried by Fox News, Trump expressed confidence that the situation with Iran would improve. He emphasized that the US would deliver powerful strikes, noting that the United States had successfully intercepted five Iranian missiles.

According to Qatar News Agency, Trump added that Iran's infrastructure and critical facilities would be directly targeted, suggesting that future strikes could include power generation plants and bridges. He mentioned that his administration had temporarily suspended diplomatic contacts because it was not interested in holding talks until Iran demonstrated genuine seriousness and engaged in meaningful negotiations.

He also addressed reports that China was planning to send missile launchers or man-portable air defense systems to Iran, describing these reports as surprising and disappointing. Trump remarked that Chinese President Xi Jinping had previously assured that China would not participate in the conflict.
