Tehran: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni has announced that about 1.2 million illegal Afghan migrants have left Iran since the beginning of the year and returned to their country. According to Qatar News Agency, Momeni stated on Monday that more than 70 percent of these migrants have taken personal and voluntary steps to leave Iran. He highlighted that the country hosts over 6 million Afghan refugees, and projected that two million of them are expected to return to Afghanistan by the end of the year.
