Iraq Extends Airspace Closure by 72 Hours

Iraq: Iraq on Tuesday extended the closure of its airspace to all arriving, departing, and transit flights for an additional 72 hours, starting from midday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority said. The authority stated that the decision was taken as a temporary precautionary measure based on the continued assessment of the security situation and evolving regional developments.

According to Qatar News Agency, the closure will remain under continuous review, with the decision subject to reassessment in line with current developments on the ground. Airlines and relevant authorities will be informed of any further updates.

The move is part of a series of measures adopted by Iraqi authorities to close the country’s airspace amid escalating regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.
