Doha: Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani has discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Mohsen Paknejad, who is currently visiting Iraq, ways to enhance cooperation in the oil sector, including exploration, production, and refining. During today's meeting, the two sides signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements to enhance oil cooperation and exchange expertise between the two countries, particularly in the field of offshore exploration and the transport of associated gas through Iraq's border fields to Iran, with the aim of providing fuel for liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations. According to Qatar News Agency, the Iraqi Oil Minister affirmed that Iraq has promising gas investment projects and is working to achieve self-sufficiency in petroleum derivatives.
