Basra:Prime Minister of Iraq, Ali Faleh Al Zaidi, held discussions with officials from TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips about investment opportunities in oil and associated gas production in the Bin Umar field and other locations in Iraq.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Zaidi met with Patrick Pouyanne, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, and Andy O'Brien, President and CEO of ConocoPhillips. They focused on developing timelines to enhance production capabilities in the Bin Umar field and other Iraqi sites.
Al Zaidi emphasized the strategic importance of investing in associated gas, highlighting Iraq's potential to capitalize on locally produced gas to eliminate the need for imports in the future.
Executives from TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips conveyed their commitment to adhering to planned schedules aimed at boosting production rates.
