Israel Seizes Over 22 Dunums of Palestinian Land in Jenin

Doha: Israeli authorities have seized more than 22 dunums (2.2 hectares) of Palestinian-owned land in the towns of Arraba and Qabatiya, located south of Jenin City in the northern occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian local sources.

According to Qatar News Agency, the sources said three military orders covered the seizure of 16.31 dunums of land in Arraba, while a fourth authorized the confiscation of 6.271 dunums in Qabatiya.

The move came amid an escalation of Israeli military operations across Jenin Governorate, including demolition operations carried out by Israeli forces in the towns of Arraba and Anza, the sources said.

The sources said Israeli authorities have continued to seize Palestinian land in the Jenin area to expand settlements and build infrastructure serving both existing and newly established settlements.

According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC), Israeli authorities seized more than 4,379 dunums of land across the occupied West Bank during the first half of 2026 under various legal and military pretexts. During the same period, Israel issued 40 military land seizure orders, appropriating 611 dunums for military purposes, and established four buffer zones around settlements, 16 security roads and 12 military sites.

The latest land seizures come amid continued international concern over Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern over reports that Israel was accelerating the legalization of settlement outposts and establishing new ones.
