Jordan's King Abdullah II discussed Friday with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who is currently visiting Amman, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all fields, ways to reduce escalation in the Middle East, and efforts to reach an immediate end to the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon. During the meeting, the Jordanian monarch warned of the continued attacks by extremist settlers on Palestinians in the West Bank, and violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stressing the need to work effectively to find a political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
