The Kataeb Party’s Political Bureau convened its weekly meeting, chaired by party leader Samy Gemayel. The meeting began with a moment of silence in honor of the Beirut blast victims, followed by a speech from the party leader addressing the Kataeb victims: Joe Andoun, Joe Akiki, Tony Barmaki, Randa Rizkallah, and the late Kataeb Party Secretary-General Nazar Najarian.
Najarian remained steadfast in his national mission, compelling him to return to Lebanon after years abroad. Tragically, he fell at the Kataeb headquarters, dedicating his life to the country he loved until his last breath.
In the interest of justice and honoring the bloodshed, suffering, and pain of the victims’ families and for Lebanon, the Kataeb Party emphasizes the necessity of releasing the case file, initiating investigations, and granting Judge Bitar the authority to issue an indictment as soon as possible to restore some semblance of justice to Lebanon.
After reviewing recent developments and discussing alarming reports about a pote
ntial war, the Bureau issued the following statement:
1- The Kataeb Political Bureau salutes the resilient residents of the south who are enduring difficult times due to Hezbollah’s unilateral decision-making regarding peace and war, placing them at the brink of an uncertain conflict serving Iran and its interests.
It commends the steadfastness of Kataeb comrades in the districts of Hasbaya, Marjayoun, Bint Jbeil, Nabatiyeh, and Tyre, who refused to abandon their livelihoods and homes, choosing once again to face all challenges out of their national duty.
The Kataeb Political Bureau considers that Lebanon has been placed in a state of anticipation, awaiting strikes, repercussions, and reactions due to involvement in battles its citizens do not desire and over which the Lebanese state has no control.
These conflicts have begun to spiral out of containment and context, entering the maze of a regional war that Iran seeks to impose with the “unity of the arenas” weapon, aiming to position itself as a regional
player at the negotiation table, with Lebanon, leaderless, as a pawn maneuvered by Hezbollah.
2- The Kataeb Political Bureau congratulates the Maronite Patriarchate and Lebanon on the beatification of Patriarch Mar Estephan Douaihy. This sacred occasion should serve as an additional milestone reaffirming that Lebanon is elevated by its saints who led lives of austerity and scholarship, laying the foundations for the Lebanon we know and aspire to maintain.
