Katara Opens Winning Entries of Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition

Doha: General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, opened "The Winning Entries of Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition" organized by Katara in collaboration with the Russian Federation Embassy in Qatar. The opening was attended by HE Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Qatar, Dmitry Dogadkin, as well as a number of ambassadors, enthusiasts and media professionals.

According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition, running until September 30 in Katara's Building 47, highlights creative photographic works by young talents from different parts of the world and presents the winning photos of this year's edition of the contest. "The Winning Entries of Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition" aims to support and encourage young photographers to present their works and give them a platform to express their artistic visions and document moments in their daily lives.

The displayed works reflect themes of humanitarian, social and cultural causes. The works received acclaim from the visitors for their strong presentation and technical creativity. Katara's General Manager said that holding this exhibition shows the foundation's commitment to supporting the visual arts and that Katara is always keen to host global events that attract both local and international audiences to engage with rich and diverse art.

Journalistic photography represents a great modern tool to increase social awareness as well as bring cultures together, Dr. Al Sulaiti added. On his part, the Russian Ambassador said that the contest constitutes a bridge of communication between cultures through the universal language of images. He added that the exhibition brings out the ability of the talented youth in creatively spreading humanitarian topics.

He additionally praised the distinguished relations between Russia and Qatar and that such events contribute to strengthening cultural dialogue and the bond between the two friendly countries. The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest is a global platform that celebrates young photographers. It encourages the exchange of experiences and promotes cultural dialogue through photography. The contest is the only international event in Russia that helps discover new talents in the field. It provides support to young photographers, in addition to setting high standards when it comes to the quality of documentary photography in Russia and the world.
