Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara is set to organize the Katara Children’s Festival on Wednesday in celebration of World Children’s Day, which is observed annually on November 20 to commemorate the United Nations’ declaration on children’s rights.
According to Qatar News Agency, the four-day festival will offer a variety of activities and events aimed at children aged 4 to 14 years. The event is scheduled to take place daily from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM along Ibn Rayb Street.
The festival will feature a mix of cultural, artistic, heritage, and recreational activities, along with competitions. Notable heritage-related events include oyster splitting, traditional games, and workshops. Additionally, there will be workshops dedicated to teaching traditional crafts.
In terms of cultural and artistic events, the festival will include Arabic calligraphy workshops on cups, stamp painting workshops, and planetarium shows. Entertainment activities will encompass street performances, video screenings, face p
ainting, puppet shows, and religious quizzes organized by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. Furthermore, a special Moroccan children’s activity is planned as part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture.
Katara Publishing House will also participate by showcasing a collection of books and special games for children throughout the festival.
