Singapore: King Abdullah II of Jordan and President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam met in Singapore to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral relations and to discuss current regional developments.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, King Abdullah II highlighted the collaborative efforts between Jordan and Singapore, particularly in the context of humanitarian response efforts in Gaza. These efforts are being executed through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the Restoring Hope initiative. The King underscored the importance of maintaining and expanding these initiatives.
The leaders also shared perspectives on key developments in the Middle East. King Abdullah II emphasized the need for increased international efforts to restore comprehensive calm and to support the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace, grounded in the two-state solution. He stressed the importance of adhering to agreements aimed at ending the conflict in its entirety.
Additionally, King Abdullah II expressed concerns over the ongoing unilateral actions against Palestinians in the West Bank and the incidents at holy sites in Jerusalem. The discussions also included the situations in Syria and Lebanon, with both leaders recognizing the importance of supporting these nations in maintaining their security, stability, and territorial integrity.
