Beirut: The Lebanese Army affirmed on Sunday that the Israeli entity continues to violate Lebanese sovereignty, destabilize the country, and obstruct the army's full deployment in the south, noting that the latest of these condemned violations was the targeting of a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) patrol earlier today.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Army Command stated it is coordinating with friendly countries to put an end to the ongoing violations and breaches by the Israeli entity, stressing that these actions require immediate intervention as they constitute a serious escalation.
On November 27 of last year, a ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon came into effect, stipulating the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from border towns and villages of south Lebanon within 60 days. Beirut later agreed to extend the deadline until February 18. Still, the occupation forces remained in five positions and have continued their violations, which have exceeded 7,000 airspace breaches and more than 2,400 military activities within UNIFIL's area of operations since the agreement took effect.
