Beirut: A Lebanese army soldier was killed on Sunday by Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon.
According to Qatar News Agency, a statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that Israeli attacks on residents in the town of Kfarkela resulted in the death of a military personnel and injuries to two others, one of whom is in critical condition.
On Saturday, an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon claimed the life of one individual and injured another.
A ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon came into effect on Nov. 27, 2024, mandating the withdrawal of Israeli forces from border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within 60 days. The Lebanese government later extended the deadline to February 18. Israeli forces have since withdrawn from all villages and towns except for five locations.
