Lekhwiya Finds Remains of 30 People in Syria’s Dabiq


Lekhwiya: The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) announced the discovery of the remains of 30 people believed to have been kidnapped and killed by ISIS during its control of Dabiq, the Syrian Arab Republic. The discovery was made possible with the support of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).



According to Qatar News Agency, Lekhwiya mentioned that these efforts were part of an international operation initiated in response to an official request submitted by the FBI. The operation involved full coordination with the Syrian government, which provided necessary support to facilitate the team’s work on the ground.



A specialized team was formed for this mission, comprising multiple units including the Qatari team, to identify disaster victims. The Qatar International Search and Rescue Group of the Lekhwiya utilized advanced technologies to search for victims, executing their tasks with precision and professionalism amidst challenging field conditions.



In its statement, Lekhwiya emphasized its commitment to conducting DNA tests with accuracy and precision. It stressed the importance of awaiting the official announcement of the final results and cautioned against drawing any premature conclusions.
