Doha:The Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) has introduced the 'Taqdeer' platform, with the inauguration graced by HE Minister of Social Development and Family, Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Taqdeer platform is designed to serve as a comprehensive digital reference, compiling information on services, programs, initiatives, and benefits available for senior citizens in Qatar. This initiative aims to assist seniors, their families, and caregivers in easily identifying and accessing service providers.

The platform organizes information across nine sectors, including health and care, lifelong learning, social protection, socio-economic empowerment, mobility and transport, assistive technology, access to justice, cultural and recreational activities, and emergency services. It adheres to global digital accessibility standards to ensure that its content is user-friendly and accessible.

HE Minister Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi emphasized the state’s commitment to prioritizing people and families in its development plans. The Ministry's strategy for 2025-2030, titled "From Care to Empowerment," underscores that quality of life extends beyond protection and care to include participation and independence.

Senior citizens are a focal point of this strategy, which aims to ensure their active participation in society and provide services that meet their needs and aspirations. The Minister highlighted the importance of digital accessibility in empowering individuals by providing clear and reliable information that aids in decision-making.

The Taqdeer platform is expected to be a significant resource for senior citizens, offering them and their caregivers greater access to essential services and opportunities for engagement within the community.
