Malaysian PM Condemns Attack on Qatar, Urges Swift International Response

Kuala lumpur: HE Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr Anwar Ibrahim, affirmed that the attack on the Qatari capital, Doha, constitutes a barbaric act, a blatant violation of international law, and an unjustified provocation, noting that the gravity of the assault is heightened by Qatar's central role in mediation efforts.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister, speaking at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit today, highlighted Qatar's efforts to promote dialogue in partnership with Egypt and the United States, emphasizing that the attack was deliberate. He noted that Israeli aggression spared no country, with Gaza continuing to suffer destruction before the world's eyes, where families and children remain buried under rubble.

Furthermore, the Malaysian Prime Minister pointed out that the Israeli aggression extended to Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran, highlighting Israel's impunity under international law. He added that Israel openly declared there will be no Palestinian state, which is a direct renunciation of any UN resolutions affirming the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

The Prime Minister stressed that Arab and Muslim peoples are exhausted by repeated statements and condemnations while Israeli aggression escalates without accountability. He emphasized the need for courage in taking necessary measures so that the international community fulfills its fundamental responsibilities.

Dr. Anwar Ibrahim also highlighted the ongoing humanitarian effort, noting a convoy carrying aid to Gaza and stressing the importance of ensuring its safe arrival. He warned that any obstruction of this aid would betray humanity's moral responsibility to protect the vulnerable and those facing hunger.

In conclusion, he underscored that condemnation alone will not stop rockets, and statements alone will not liberate Palestine, calling for strict sanctions, suspension of diplomatic and commercial relations with Israel, and prayed for strength and courage for all to act and achieve justice.
