Maronite Patriarch Bechara Al-Rahi reiterated his call for the politicians obstructing the election of a president to 'heed God's voice' and make the right decision to save the country, urging them to take responsibility for the devastation of the country and its state institutions. "We should pray for the repentance of the political leaders who are blocking the presidential election for malicious reasons," the patriarch said in his Sunday sermon, stressing that by taking a bold stance, the politicians would realize their wrongdoing against the people. Commenting on the recent opening ceremony of the Olympics Games in Paris, Al-Rahi blasted the vile, disgraceful, and anti-Christ display at the global sports event, deeming it as a sign of moral degradation as it reflects a deep-seated hatred towards Christ. 'We call on the faithful to pray for atonement," he concluded. Source: National News Agency - Lebanon
