Homs, Al-Baath university and The Petroleum University of Technology in Iran signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding to enhance joint educational and research cooperation, especially in the chemical and Petroleum engineering fields. During a meeting held today between the two sides via Video conference technology, Rector of al-Baath university, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, briefed the Iranian side on a glimpse about the university and its colleges ,stressing the importance of raising the level of educational and research cooperation, particularly in chemical and Petroleum engineering fields by providing scholarships of master's degree and enabling the students conduct actual and virtual courses after assessing the training needs required by both universities. For his part, Rector of The Petroleum University of Technology, Mohammad Chahardowli, pointed out the importance of cooperation with Al-Baath University and signing agreements related to the specializations of chemical and petroleum engineering . Chahardowli stressed the necessity of continuing meetings to exchange ideas and views that serves Syrian and Iranian students and to establish research projects and development programs to benefit from Syrian and Iranian scientific and technological expertise.
