Minister of Education meet top students following scholarships announcement

Manama, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, received the top students in the Kingdom of Bahrain from public and private schools, along with their parents, on the occasion of the announcement of the scholarship results. The minister met with the top 30 students from private schools, the top 30 students from public boys’ schools, and the top 30 students from public girls’ schools.

This came following the minister’s approval of the results of scholarships and grants to top students for the academic year 2023-2024. Students and parents can view the results on the Education Ministry’s website.

On this occasion, the minister expressed his appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their ongoing support for the educational system. He said this support has been reflected in government programmes and projects that prioritise education.

Dr. Juma congratulated all the top students, exp
ressing pride in their achievements that qualified them for the scholarships. He also acknowledged the crucial role of their parents in supporting and enabling their children to excel.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the scholarship results with the students and their parents, which have been allocated based on cumulative grades. He also discussed the students’ aspirations and future academic and career plans, wishing them success.

The minister noted that the total number of scholarship applicants from public and private school graduates was 1,500 students. Among them, 1,200 students, representing 80% of the applicants, received their first or second choice of scholarship, which is considered a significant achievement in the precise and objective distribution of scholarships.

Dr. Juma highlighted that 287 students received scholarships in nursing, the highest number for this major ever provided through the Ministry of Education’s scholarships. All applicants have been accommodated.

Additionally,
2,400 educational grants were awarded to students with grades ranging from 90% to 94.9%.

The Ministry of Education announced on its Instagram account the steps and procedures for students who received scholarships. The Ministry also announced the opening of the appeal process for scholarship results from the date of the announcement until July 31.
