Doha: HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi met with HE Spouse of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Executive Director of "My Step" Charitable Foundation Anna Hakobyan.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was attended by HE Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the State Dikran Kevorkian, and Acting CEO of Qatar Social Work Foundation Khaled bin Mohammed Al Kuwari. Discussion topics included cooperation in social work and family affairs, with both parties exchanging views on enhancing collaboration between the two countries.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Qatar Social Work Foundation and "My Step" Charitable Foundation. This agreement aims to exchange expertise and strengthen cooperation in empowering persons with disabilities, supporting women and children, and developing capacities in the social sector. Khaled bin Mohammed Al Kuwari signed on behalf of Qatar Social Work Foundation, while Talin Topalakian, Deputy Director of "My Step" Foundation, signed on behalf of her organization.
Following the discussions, HE Anna Hakobyan visited the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities and Al-Noor Institute for the Blind, accompanied by the Acting CEO of Qatar Social Work Foundation. The visit included an introductory tour of the Shafallah Center, where she was briefed on the facilities and services provided, as well as the programs for the rehabilitation and skill development of persons with disabilities. Executive Director Maryam Saif Al Suwaidi explained the center's activities and goals in promoting social inclusion.
The delegation then proceeded to Al-Noor Institute for the Blind. The Institute's Executive Director Mishal Abdullah Al Nuaimi presented the programs and services offered to support and educate the blind, highlighting the latest innovations and technologies that improve their lives and facilitate active participation in society.
This visit underscores the strengthening of bilateral relations between Qatar and Armenia in social and humanitarian work, emphasizing the importance of supporting and empowering persons with disabilities by ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment across various sectors.
