Minister of State for International Cooperation Meets Special Representative of UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict

Munich: HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad met with HE United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, Vanessa Fraser, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in providing international and institutional support to enhance the protection of children in areas affected by armed conflict.

According to Qatar News Agency, discussions during the meeting also included strategies for protecting educational institutions from attacks and promoting global initiatives that have successfully enrolled millions of children in conflict zones into schools. Additionally, the provision of humanitarian aid and care for unaccompanied children, along with efforts to reunite them with their families, were key topics of conversation.

HE the Minister of State for International Cooperation reaffirmed the State of Qatar's commitment to the belief that achieving peace is essential for ensuring the full protection of children impacted by wars.
