Ministry of Endowments Opens Its Pavilion at 3rd Qatar University Book Fair

Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs opened Sunday its special pavilion, which is full of books and publications on reviving Islamic heritage, scientific research and endowments, as part of the 3rd Qatar University Book Fair.

According to Qatar News Agency, the fair, organized by the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum in cooperation with Qatar University Press, will welcome visitors at the university campus from Feb. 1-5, with broad local and international participation and the presence of a host of academics and intellectuals. This edition includes 9 foreign academic publishing houses, 34 local publishing houses, in addition to a number of other official bodies.

The ministry's participation in this edition was of a high caliber, achieved through the combined efforts of three key departments: the Islamic Research and Studies Department, the General Directorate of Endowments, and the Department of Islamic Affairs. Through this platform, the ministry aims to educate various segments of society and strengthen ties with academic and cultural institutions both within and outside Qatar. The participating departments also showcased their latest scholarly output, reflecting the ministry's efforts to revive Islamic heritage and solidify the values of moderation through a contemporary religious discourse that balances preserving fundamental principles with keeping pace with modern developments.

The exhibition essentially aims to build bridges of cultural communication and exchange experiences among participants, while providing a knowledge platform for the public that enables them to view the latest publications in various scientific and cultural fields.

The official opening ceremony was attended by a high-level delegation of key figures from the Ministry of Culture, Qatar University administration, the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

Participants agreed on the great importance of organizing such cultural events in supporting the intellectual movement in the country, and enhancing Qatar's position as a beacon of culture and knowledge locally and internationally.

On the sidelines of the fair, a series of vital events are organized, including the launch of new publications, scientific seminars and specialized workshops targeting university students and those interested in the publishing industry, which contributes to enriching the knowledge experience of the attendees and opening up avenues for dialogue between different parties.

This active participation of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs confirms its continued commitment to promoting religious and cultural values, and supporting national efforts aimed at raising the level of cultural awareness in society.

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs emphasized its continued commitment to developing the system for printing books on Islamic heritage and research, and expanding the distribution of its endowment and research publications to serve the aspirations of cultural development stemming from Qatar National Vision 2030.
