Post: Ministry of Municipality Celebrates International Plastic Bag Free Day with Various Activities

The Ministry of Municipality celebrated the International Plastic Bag Free Day, which falls on July 3 of every year, by organizing several awareness events for the public, and visitors to commercial malls. The activities affirmed the need to reduce single-use plastic bags and replace them with environmentally friendly cloth bags to preserve and sustain the environment and achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030). In this regard, awareness publications and environmentally friendly bags were distributed to the public, introducing the ministry's efforts to reduce the use of plastic bags and introducing ministerial decision No. 143 of 2022 regarding controls on the use of plastic bags and Public Hygiene Law No. 18 of 2017, amended by Law No. 6 of 2023, in addition to explaining the solid waste sorting program from the source and introducing Ministerial Decision No. 170 of 2021 regarding it, as well as various entertainment and educational activities for children and the public.
