Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) organized a workshop entitled 'Foreign Investment and Partnerships in Qatari Companies: The Legal Framework and Best Practices,' with the participation of representatives from the private sector, investors, entrepreneurs, and owners of small and medium-sized companies based in Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the MOCI stated that the workshop is part of its ongoing collaboration with QDB to enhance the investment environment and develop various commercial and industrial sectors. The initiative aims to raise awareness of commercial legislation and introduce the private sector to the procedures required for partnerships, thereby creating a business-friendly environment that attracts investments and fosters the national economy's diversity, competitiveness, and sustainability.

The workshop addressed several specialized topics, including examining the key legal and regulatory aspects related to foreign investment and commercial partnerships in Qatar. It also discussed the mechanisms and procedures for foreign partner participation in Qatari companies and outlined partners' rights and obligations in line with current regulations and legislation. The goal is to build successful and sustainable investment partnerships.

Additionally, the workshop featured a discussion session where participants exchanged views and discussed the legal challenges that the private sector may encounter. This dialogue aimed to mitigate risks and enable the establishment of effective business partnerships, which would contribute to economic sustainability, increase competitiveness, and facilitate access to new markets locally and internationally.
