Hamburg: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) participated in the 9th meeting of the International Test TIMSS 2023 and the first meeting of TIMSS 2027, which took place in Hamburg, Germany. The ministry's delegation was led by Khalid Abdullah Al Hargan, the Assistant Undersecretary for Evaluation Affairs at MOEHE.
According to Qatar News Agency, the participation in these meetings is part of the Ministry's ongoing initiatives to improve education quality and update evaluation and measurement systems. The discussions during the meetings centered on analyzing test results and evolving the mechanisms and future framework of these assessments.
The TIMSS (International Mathematics and Science Study) tests, managed by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), are significant global assessments. They evaluate student achievement in mathematics and science for fourth and eighth graders and benchmark their performance on an international scale. These assessments play a crucial role in curriculum development and teaching methodologies, aligning them with global standards.
