Post: Morocco’s Badou Zaki Appointed Head Coach of Jordan National Team

Doha: Jordan Football Association on Sunday appointed Moroccan coach Badou Zaki as the new head coach of the national team on a one-year contract, replacing his compatriot Jamal Sellami, who departed after Jordan's first-round exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to Qatar News Agency, the association stated that Zaki will lead the team in its upcoming competitions, with the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for early 2027, as the main priority. Zaki, as a player, captained Morocco to the Round of 16 at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. He later took on the role of coach for the Moroccan national team in 2004 and has also managed the national teams of Sudan and Niger. At the club level, he has been in charge of several Moroccan sides, including Wydad Casablanca, Fath Union Sport, Kawkab Marrakech, and Ittihad Tanger.
