Post: Msheireb Properties Unveils ‘Rashid’, an AI Digital Companion for Downtown Doha

Msheireb properties: Msheireb Properties has initiated the Phase One rollout of "Rashid", an AI-powered digital companion, in Msheireb Downtown Doha. This marks a significant milestone as it enhances the smart city capabilities of the area and offers a novel service to the community.

According to Qatar News Agency, the introduction of Rashid comes in the wake of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MEEZA, a prominent provider of Managed IT Services and Integrated Technology Solutions, signed in April 2026. Following a successful pilot phase, Phase One has now expanded the service to the general public.

The deployment of Rashid aligns with Msheireb Properties' recent accolade at the Enterprise AI Tech Awards, where the organization was honored with the Organization Excellence, Best Use of AI, and Digital Enablement of the Year award during a ceremony at Rosewood Doha in Lusail on 10 September 2026.

Developed in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and utilizing Fanar, Qatar's Arabic large language model, Rashid is accessible at 15 smart kiosks across Msheireb Downtown Doha. It functions as a 24/7 intelligent digital concierge, blending artificial intelligence, smart city systems, and user-centric design into a cohesive digital interface.

Rashid aims to streamline interactions with city services by offering assistance in both Arabic and English. It provides users with real-time information, wayfinding services, and interacts via voice commands, catering to a myriad of needs-from locating nearby restaurants to finding parking information and discovering upcoming events.

The current phase serves as a pilot to gauge user interaction, gather feedback, and inform future developments. Ahmad Al Korbi, Senior Manager of Information and Communication Technology at Msheireb Properties, emphasized the importance of this rollout in understanding AI's role in daily interactions, highlighting the focus on developing practical and accessible technology.

Faisal Al Kuwari, Chief Strategy Officer at MEEZA, remarked on the strategic collaboration with Msheireb Properties, underscoring the commitment to harness advanced technologies for community benefit. He noted the ongoing efforts to evolve Rashid to deliver meaningful value and enhance user experiences.

This initiative builds on the existing digital ecosystem of Msheireb Downtown Doha, aiming to improve operational efficiency and service delivery through integrated, data-driven solutions. As Phase One advances, Msheireb Properties plans to continually evaluate Rashid's performance and explore new applications to reinforce its function as a key digital interface.
