Municipality Ministry Launches Second National Service Recruits Training Program

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, in collaboration with the National Service Academy (NSA), has launched the second national service recruits training program. The program aims to enhance the readiness of Qatari recruits and augment their technical and mechanical proficiency, contributing to supporting the sustainable development journey in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.

According to Qatar News Agency, this initiative was introduced during an introductory briefing attended by the ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for General Services Affairs, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani, Colonel Abdullah Bader Kafoud, a senior teacher at NSA, and several officials from both sides along with national service recruits. This launch is part of implementing the collaboration between the Ministry of Municipality and the Ministry of Defense. The program intends to equip recruits with advanced technical and practical skills in public service-related mechanical domains, as highlighted by Al Karani.

Al Karani emphasized that this collaboration demonstrates a concerted whole-of-government approach in developing the capacity of young Qataris, who are considered a national treasure vital for the path toward development. The program is a combination of military discipline and field practical expertise that recruits will internalize in managing mechanical equipment.

Al Karani further elaborated that the ministry integrates sustainability concepts and environmental protection into the program by emphasizing proper mechanical practices and rational resource utilization, thereby strengthening environmental awareness and national responsibility. He extended his gratitude to NSA's Muqdam Camp for its role in executing this program and emphasized that the Ministry of Municipality will continue to support joint programs aimed at creating a nationally qualified workforce capable of overcoming future challenges.

The briefing included an overview of the program's objectives and training themes, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects related to technical gear, systems, and modes of operation and maintenance. The program is set to qualify 60 recruits of national service to take on specialized mechanisms under the guidance of a team of professional engineers in managing mechanical equipment.

Additionally, the program aims to conduct training in tire, mechanics, and maintenance workshops, as well as in the operation of heavy vehicles. Trainees will receive instruction on lubricant properties and their applications, further enhancing their operational readiness to competently handle mechanical equipment and systems.
