Muscat Stock Exchange Closes Lower with Significant Decline in Trading Value

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) "30" index closed on Tuesday at 7,303.30 points, reflecting a decrease of 85.6 points, or 1.16 percent, compared to the previous trading session's closure at 7,388.86 points. This marks a notable downturn in the MSX performance.

According to Qatar News Agency, the total trading value on the exchange reached OMR 21,727,824, which indicates a substantial decrease of 24.2 percent from the prior trading session, where the trading value was recorded at OMR 28,658,703. The reduction in trading value highlights a significant shift in market activity.

Further insights from the report issued by MSX reveal that the market capitalization witnessed a decrease of 0.386 percent from the last trading day, bringing it to approximately OMR 36.14 billion. This decline in market capitalization underscores a downward trend in the overall market valuation.
