Nomas Center Launches Registration for Educational Sea Trip on Heritage Dhow.

Doha: Nomas Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, has officially opened registration for a unique sea trip aboard the “Nomas Dhow.” This initiative aims to instill values, reinforce national identity among youth, and introduce them to authentic Qatari heritage.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ghanem Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Director of Nomas Center, announced that the sea trip is scheduled for Saturday, November 16. It will serve as a one-day mini-educational camp aboard a traditional “Sanbuk” ship. The event will include an array of cultural, educational, and recreational activities.

The sea trip, set to run from 9 am to 5 pm, is designed for students and children aged 8 to 14 years. It aims to develop their skills and abilities to rely on themselves, while encouraging participation in marine heritage activities.

Al Kuwari further elaborated that the trip’s activities will encompass workshops introducing the Qatari marine environment, traditional maritime navigation, and training on security and
safety procedures. Participants will also receive first aid instruction, learn fishing methods, and engage in diving and popular games.
