Seoul: North Korea fired an apparent intermediate-range ballistic missile toward the East Sea on Monday, South Korea’s military said. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) reported detecting the launch from the Pyongyang area, with the missile traveling approximately 1,100 kilometers before landing in the sea.
According to Qatar News Agency, this event marks North Korea’s first missile launch this year. The last known launch was on November 5, 2024, when North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea.
