Post: North Korea Launches Multiple Missiles Toward East Sea

Pyongyang:Seoul North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Monday, as reported by South Korea's military. The missiles were launched from the Pyongyang area, with one missile traveling more than 900 kilometers.

According to Qatar News Agency, the launches were detected by South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff at around 920 am local time. The South Korean military is maintaining heightened surveillance in coordination with the United States and Japan.

This missile activity comes less than two weeks after North Korea fired a ballistic missile from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea on October 3. North Korean state media reported that the launch was overseen by leader Kim Jong Un as part of training for missile troops operating the country's "hypersonic strategic weapon system."
