Oil Prices Ease on US Efforts to Reopen Strait of Hormuz

Doha: Oil prices eased on Tuesday Oil prices eased on Tuesday after climbing by as much as 6 percent in the previous session on signs of US attempts to open the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Qatar News Agency, Brent oil futures for July fell by 68 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $113.76 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $1.59, or 1.5 percent, to $104.83, after gaining 4.4 percent in the previous session.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced yesterday that it began supporting "Project Freedom" to help merchant vessels get through the Strait of Hormuz.
