Muscat: The Omani-Saudi joint naval drill "Winds of Peace 2026" commenced on Sunday, involving several vessels from both nations' naval forces. The exercise features participation from crews aboard these vessels, marking a collaborative effort between Oman and Saudi Arabia.
According to Qatar News Agency, the exercise will include numerous training programs and practical applications. These activities will focus on executing various naval operations, formations, maneuvers, and specialized exercises. The drill also provides an opportunity for an exchange of expertise among the participating ship crews.
The Oman News Agency stated that the joint exercise is part of the annual training plans for the Oman Navy and aligns with joint exercise plans with navies of other countries. It is aimed at maintaining the operational readiness levels of the Oman Navy's fleet and its personnel.
