Palestinian Foreign Ministry Warns Int’l Community against Dangers of Israel’s Home Demolition Policy

Doha: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday warned the international community against the dangers of treating the violations and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and its settlers as routine matters, particularly the demolition of homes and structures in areas witnessing escalating violence amidst the ongoing war on Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry stated that it continues to engage and follow up with the United Nations Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and the relevant special rapporteurs on these illegal unilateral measures. The Ministry urged the international community to swiftly apply international law to the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and to restore the authority of United Nations resolutions.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this can be achieved through the adoption of binding measures and procedures to force the occupation authorities to halt all forms of aggression against the Palestinian people and to stop enabling them to defy the international will for peace.

The statement pointed out that the most recent home demolitions involved eight houses in Jerusalem, Nablus, and Ramallah, leaving families displaced and further straining their already fragile economic conditions.
