Post: “Peace Council” Convenes in Washington to Address Gaza Reconstruction

Washington: The "Peace Council" held its inaugural meeting in Washington, chaired by US President Donald Trump, with participation from 47 countries and the European Union as an observer. The meeting focused on discussing the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and ensuring long-term stability in the region following the recent conflict. According to Qatar News Agency, President Trump, in his opening remarks, announced that a significant number of countries have committed over seven billion dollars towards the reconstruction efforts in Gaza. He also revealed a substantial US contribution of 10 billion dollars to support the objectives of the "Peace Council." President Trump further disclosed that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) plans to contribute 75 million dollars towards football-related projects in the Gaza region. Additionally, the United Nations has pledged two billion dollars aimed at providing humanitarian aid. The proposal for forming the council was initially made by Trum p last September as part of his broader plan to end the Israeli war on Gaza.
