Presidents of Bulgaria and Lebanon Focus on Judicial Cooperation and Regional Stability

Sofia: Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev met in Sofia with his Lebanese counterpart, General Joseph Aoun, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in judicial and criminal matters. Key topics included the Beirut port-blast case and regional developments.

According to Qatar News Agency, President Aoun, during a joint press conference with President Radev, emphasized the critical role of the Lebanese military in maintaining national authority and sovereignty. He highlighted the necessity for Israeli forces to cease assaults on Lebanese territories and to withdraw from occupied positions. Aoun asserted that this, coupled with a negotiated pathway, is essential for achieving the objectives of the Lebanese people and the nation's supreme interests.

President Aoun also expressed his support for the agreement aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip. He called for its full implementation and suggested it be expanded to address other unresolved crises. These efforts, Aoun noted, are vital for achieving comprehensive peace in the region, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution principle.
