Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Engages with US Senate Minority Leader in Washington

Washington d.c.: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Senator Chuck Schumer, the US Senate Minority Leader, to discuss pivotal issues and mutual interests between Qatar and the United States.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions underscored the close strategic relations shared by the two nations and explored ways to enhance and promote these ties further. The meeting also covered the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. Additionally, the leaders addressed a number of issues of mutual interest, reflecting the ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Senator Schumer expressed his appreciation to the State of Qatar for its significant contributions, particularly in facilitating a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. He also acknowledged Qatar's role in securing the release of several American citizens who had been detained in Afghanistan.
