PSG Suffers Setback with Home Defeat to Lyon

Paris: Ligue 1 leader Paris Saint-Germain suffered its fifth defeat of the season, losing 2-1 at home to Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday evening in the closing match of the 30th round of the French top flight. Lyon's goals were scored by the Brazilian Endrick in the sixth minute and the Portuguese Afonso Moreira in the 18th. PSG striker Goncalo Ramos then missed a penalty in the 33rd minute, before substitute Khvicha Kvaratskhelia pulled one back for the capital club in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

According to Qatar News Agency, the team of Spanish coach Luis Enrique remains on 63 points, just one point ahead of Lens, which has played one more match. The two sides are set to meet on May 13 in a rescheduled fixture from Round 29. PSG will face Nantes and Angers in the next two rounds before hosting Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinals on May 2. Meanwhile, Lyon strengthened its chances of direct qualification for the Champions League, raising its tally to 54 points in fourth place.

Elsewhere, Monaco drew 2-2 at home with Auxerre. Monaco moved to 50 points in seventh place, while Auxerre remained 16th with 25 points, in the relegation playoff position, four points behind 15th-place Nice. Stade Rennais defeated Strasbourg 3-0, lifting Rennes to 53 points in fifth place, while Strasbourg remains on 43 points. Paris FC beat Metz 3-1 away from home, moving to 38 points, while Metz, with 15 points, is now on the brink of relegation to the second division. Ten-man Nantes, battling to avoid relegation, settled for a 1-1 draw with visiting Brest.
