Doha: Qatari newspapers on Monday highlighted a range of topics, focusing prominently on the bilateral relationship between the State of Qatar and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), as well as Qatar’s ongoing efforts to support Syria in critical areas.
According to Qatar News Agency, the editorials underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation and developing mutual ties with African nations, particularly emphasizing the discussions between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the DRC Felix Tshisekedi. These conversations centered around boosting cooperation in various sectors and addressing key regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Al-Watan newspaper emphasized the shared desire between Qatar and the DRC to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for joint investments across multiple sectors. It highlighted the potential for businessmen, the private sector, and companies to embark on promising projects, driven by the mutual aim to foster ties in political, economic, commercial, and cultural fields.
Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper focused on Qatar’s unwavering support for Syria, emphasizing the country’s commitment to upholding Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and independence. For 14 years, Qatar has been a leading provider of political and humanitarian aid to Syria, supporting the aspirations of the Syrian people at international forums and offering continuous assistance to refugees and displaced individuals.
The newspaper detailed a recent meeting in Doha between HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and a high-level Syrian delegation. The discussions covered cooperation between Qatar and Syria, the latest developments in the region, and Qatar’s ongoing humanitarian aid efforts.
