Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani engaged in discussions with HE Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer to explore avenues for bilateral cooperation between Qatar and the UK. The talks focused on supporting and enhancing partnerships across various fields.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir also extended congratulations to the leaders of Bolivia and Jamaica on the occasion of their respective Independence Days. Cables of congratulations were sent to HE President Luis Alberto Arce of Bolivia and HE Governor-General Dr. Patrick Linton Allen of Jamaica. Similarly, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani conveyed congratulatory messages to these nations' leaders.
HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Minister of Interior, chaired a meeting of the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy at the National Command Centre. This meeting marks a step forward in the preparations for the security arrangements related to the country's upcoming events.
HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad participated in a UN conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in Awaza, Turkmenistan. She also met with Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov to discuss cooperation during the event.
In Beirut, HE Chairperson of the National Human Rights Committee Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah engaged with officials and civil society representatives to strengthen human rights cooperation.
Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to being a strategic partner in addressing global challenges, and the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs will represent the country in the upcoming King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Holy Qur'an in Makkah in 2025.
