Qatar Cabinet Approves Key Agreements and Amendments During Weekly Meeting

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi provided details following the meeting. The Cabinet recognized the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the Second GCC-ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, emphasizing its significance in bolstering Qatar's commitment to enhancing GCC-Asian cooperation.

The Cabinet proceeded with its agenda, approving a draft decision to amend the structure of specific administrative units within the Ministry of Labor. This amendment aims to better define responsibilities related to the development of nationalization policies, a crucial component for achieving workforce development objectives.

Further approvals were given for a draft basic contribution agreement between Qatar Fund for Development and the United Nations Population Fund to support UNFPA's regular resources. Additionally, a draft agreement between Qatar and the United Nations was sanctioned concerning arrangements for the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. A memorandum of understanding for political consultations between Qatar and Croatia was also approved.

The Cabinet reviewed the audited financial statements of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, along with its annual report. The meeting concluded with the presentation of the 15th annual report on the Qatar Committee for the Alliance of Civilizations' activities in 2024, and a decision was made regarding the report.
