Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation against the Israeli occupation authorities' recent approval of 22 new settlements in the occupied West Bank. Qatar views this move as a clear violation of international legitimacy resolutions, with particular emphasis on Security Council Resolution 2334. This development is also perceived as a severe infringement on the rights of the Palestinian people.
According to Qatar News Agency, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani extended congratulations to the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, on the occasion of Croatia's Statehood Day. In diplomatic engagements, HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, met with HE Vladimir Voronkov, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, and HE Sigrid Kaag, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process ad interim, at the Permanent Mission's headquarters in New York.
Furthermore, Qatar actively participated in the 123rd session of the Executive Council of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in Tunisia, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Doha Forum also reaffirmed its commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation at the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity in South Korea.
In preparation for the upcoming High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine, slated for June 17 to 20 in New York City, Sheikha Alya participated in preparatory meetings at the United Nations Headquarters. Additionally, the Doha Forum collaborated with the Qatar Fund for Development to co-host a panel at the Astana International Forum 2025, focusing on strengthening economic resilience in Least Developed Countries and developing economies.
