Qatar Condoles Saudi Arabia Over Prince’s Death and Engages in International Diplomacy

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, along with other senior Qatari officials, has extended condolences to Saudi Arabia following the death of HH Prince Faisal bin Turki bin Saud Al Kabeer Al Saud. The Amir sent a cable to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, expressing his sympathies. Similarly, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani sent their condolences to King Salman.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani also reached out to Sweden with a written message to HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, discussing the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two nations. This diplomatic engagement underscores Qatar's commitment to fostering international ties.

In domestic affairs, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani presided over the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan. This meeting is part of the routine governmental operations conducted in Qatar.

Furthermore, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi actively participated in the Oslo Forum's first high-level session, which focused on envisioning a different future for the Middle East. The forum took place in Oslo, Norway, and is part of an annual peace dialogue initiative.

Dr. Al Khulaifi also conducted several bilateral meetings with international counterparts, including Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide, and other key officials from Syria, Turkiye, Iran, and Ukraine. These meetings highlight Qatar's ongoing efforts in international diplomacy and collaboration on various global issues.
