Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of the recent Iranian attacks on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, labeling them as a blatant violation of Jordan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. These actions are also seen as a direct contravention of international law and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement released on Wednesday, emphasized that the continuation of such attacks represents a significant and dangerous escalation. This escalation threatens to further complicate ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalation and poses a risk to political and diplomatic initiatives designed to establish security and stability in the region.
The Ministry highlighted the urgent need for an immediate cessation of all military activities and assaults that jeopardize the region's security and stability. It called for a halt to any actions that might exacerbate the cycle of escalation, urging a serious return to dialogue and negotiations. The Ministry also stressed the importance of adhering to previously reached understandings achieved through diplomatic efforts.
Furthermore, the Ministry reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, standing by Jordan in all measures it undertakes to safeguard its sovereignty and security.
