CAIRO: The State of Qatar, through its National Planning Council, has actively engaged in a workshop focused on enhancing coordination among Arab, regional, and national statistical agencies concerning agricultural statistics. This significant event commenced on Sunday at the Arab League's headquarters in Cairo. According to Qatar News Agency, Saud Matar Al Shammari, the Assistant Director of the Department of Censuses, Surveys and Statistical Methods at the National Planning Council, highlighted that the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) is spearheading this two-day workshop. The primary objective is to evaluate and improve data collection practices among statistical agencies related to agriculture. Al Shammari further elaborated that the workshop seeks to explore the integration of technology and artificial intelligence in generating agricultural data and indicators. He also noted the considerable challenges that statistical agencies face in the data collection process within the agric ultural sector.
