Qatar Engages in Economic Discussions at Tashkent International Investment Forum

Tashkent: The State of Qatar actively participated in the fourth edition of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, hosted in the Uzbek capital from June 10 to 12. The event saw the presence of HE President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, alongside numerous senior officials, investors, and representatives from economic bodies worldwide.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed. Qatar's involvement in this forum highlights the strengthening bilateral relations between Qatar and Uzbekistan and emphasizes Qatar's commitment to broadening cooperation in key economic and investment sectors.

During the forum, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Trade conducted high-level bilateral meetings with senior officials from various participating countries. These included HE Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, HE Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqi Zavqizoda, and HE Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev. The discussions focused on enhancing economic and investment cooperation and expanding partnerships in priority sectors to serve mutual interests.

Additionally, His Excellency toured the exhibition accompanying the forum, which spanned nearly 6,000 square meters and featured approximately 90 companies representing over 10 key sectors of the Uzbek economy. These sectors included petrochemicals, retail, engineering, electrical equipment, construction materials, metal industries, pharmaceuticals, and food processing.

The visit served as an opportunity to explore Uzbekistan's commercial potential and investment opportunities, fostering discussions on prospective partnerships and cooperation between Qatar and Uzbekistan.
