Post: Qatar Engages in Key GCC Ministerial Meetings and Opens Made in GCC 2026 Forum

Manama:The State of Qatar took an active role in the 71st meeting of the GCC Commercial Cooperation Committee, the 57th meeting of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee, and the 12th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, which convened on Tuesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meetings in Manama gathered the Ministers of Commerce and Industry from the GCC member states, alongside GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi. Qatar's delegation was led by HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, with the participation of HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs.

The ministers discussed various issues of mutual interest, reviewed recommendations, and agenda items submitted by preparatory meetings of GCC undersecretaries of commerce and industry, and made appropriate decisions. Additionally, Sheikh Faisal took part in the 15th Consultative Meeting between GCC Ministers and Heads of the Federations of GCC Chambers, where topics and recommendations from the chamber heads were considered and decisions adopted.

Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed attended the sixth consultative meeting between GCC Ministers and Gulf entrepreneurs, which focused on exchanging expertise and addressing entrepreneurship challenges, along with reviewing initiatives to support SMEs, foster innovation, and strengthen the Gulf entrepreneurship ecosystem. He also participated in a ceremony honoring Gulf inventors, aimed at promoting innovation and economic development.

Sheikh Faisal and Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed also attended the inauguration of the Made in the GCC 2026 Forum and Exhibition at Exhibition World Bahrain, running from October 6 to 8. Dr. Ahmed participated in a session titled "From Industry to Global Markets: Investment, Export and Growth," which analyzed industrial growth drivers and global market access, including financing, investment, and trade agreements.

Qatar's participation in the exhibition features a national pavilion with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Economic Zones Company (Manateq), and over 20 Qatari manufacturers, showcasing the nation's industrial diversity and highlighting Qatari products.
